Upcoming Exhibitions and Events

Hi, I have very good news for everyone who is currently in Melbourne or will visit Melbourne from July 31st   till November 8th, 2015. The Hermitage is coming to town!!! The exhibition at the NGV –Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great will feature more than 400 works. They will include paintings by Rembrandt, Velasquez, Rubens and Titian.

Speaking of great artists. Recently, I watched a fascinating documentary – Tim’s Vermeer, where inventor Tim Jemison tries to recreate one of Vermeer’s paintings. By applying a certain lens’ system and other technological devices, Tim demonstrates the possible way in which Vermeer could paint his beautiful masterpieces. I was fascinated to see the transformation of an industrial designer into an artist. Tim demonstrated the properties of an artist throughout the film: devotion to the art piece which he creates, patience, and exquisite sense of colour. If you wish to see the documentary, you probably need to get a DVD because it is not in the cinemas, at least in Melbourne.

If you would like to enjoy the current art life, these are the upcoming exhibitions where I am planning to participate with my works:
