Upcoming Exhibitions and Events
Hi, I would like to share with you my impressions from the exhibition Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great which is currently running in Melbourne. The collection of works is pretty amazing! If you still make it till the 8th of November, come and visit.
The collection of drawings was of a particular interest to me. While studying them, I heard that one of the viewers sighed that artists don’t draw like this anymore. I suppose that she is right and she is not. While going to workshops of other artists, participating in life drawing groups, and visiting exhibitions devoted to drawing, you can see some really good drawings performed in old and new media. I see most of the artists as “comets”, with a head made up of main works, and a huge body of drawings as a tail.
Speaking of new media. NGV presents a very interesting exhibition of Andy Warhol and Ai Weiwei from 11th of December till 24th of April 2015. This will be an abundance of modern concepts and ideas!
However, if you decide that you would like something closer to home, I can invite you to the exhibitions where I am going to participate. There will be more. And I will update the list of them on my website in “future events”.
